Brinjal fruit and shoot borer (Leucinodes orbonalis)

Brinjal fruit and shoot borer (Leucinodes orbonalis) or Eggplant fruit and shoot borer is a small moth of the family Crambidae. It is found throughout the tropics in Asia and Africa and is a minor pest in the Americas. The larvae bore into fruits and tender shoots of Egg plants.

There are about 20 species in the genus Leucinodes. Several of them were described just a few years back, from Africa.

I met this one at my home in Bangalore.

Rice Caseworm (Parapoynx stagnalis)

Rice Caseworm (Parapoynx stagnalis) or the Rice case bearer, is a species of moth in the Crambidae family. It has a wide distribution and is found in India, Sri Lanka, South-East Asia, South Africa, South America, southern Europe, Russia and Australia.

Larvae of this moth cut leaf tips to make leaf cases on rice crop and is considered a pest throughout the world. 

I met this one during ButterflyIndia Meet 2010 at Miao in Arunachal Pradesh.

Cydalima laticostalis

Cydalima laticostalis is a moth of Crambidae family. It was described by Guenée in 1854. It is found from India to Malaysia and Australia. Genus Cydalima has nine species out of which four are recorded from India. Beautiful satin white wings and very pretty.
