Rice Caseworm (Parapoynx stagnalis) or the Rice case bearer, is a species of moth in the Crambidae family. It has a wide distribution and is found in India, Sri Lanka, South-East Asia, South Africa, South America, southern Europe, Russia and Australia.
Larvae of this moth cut leaf tips to make leaf cases on rice crop and is considered a pest throughout the world.
I met this one during ButterflyIndia Meet 2010 at Miao in Arunachal Pradesh.
