Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus)

Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus) is a medium sized hawk from North America. It belongs to Accipitridae family. Mainly East Coast and California. The birds migrate up to central Mexico. Five subspecies which vary in range and coloration. They look for prey from treetops or soaring and then drop directly on the prey to kill it.

In Florida, Red-shouldered Hawk is one of the most commonly seen and heard raptor.
